Bayer United is a growing, energetic firm that is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to join our Tampa, FL office. Bayer United has many growth opportunities in the drainage field for design, client interaction, and marketing as we have various drainage design projects within FDOT Districts 1,2, 5, 7, Turnpike, Hillsborough County, and others.

 

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

  • Assists in drainage design of roadway projects which includes the design of storm drain systems, ditch conveyance, existing drainage inventories, culvert analysis and pond design analysis.
  • Establish relationships with new clients and strengthen current relationships.
  • Help mentor next generation team members.
  • Track progress of projects including budgets and backlog projections.
  • Assists with marketing pursuits and attend technical meetings.
  • Prepare and/or guide the preparation of technical reports and memorandums.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and review project plans and documents, evaluate alternatives, and devise appropriate solutions.
  • Perform field reviews.
  • Experience in Open Roads Designer (ORD) with 3D modeling experience is a plus.
  • Depending on experience, quality control review of drainage deliverables.

 

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Registered Florida Professional Engineer (PE) with 10 – 15 years post PE experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Good technical writing, communication and organization/planning skills are required.

Experience and familiarity with the following programs and methodology: Geopak Drainage, Open Roads Designer (ORD),3D corridor modeling, SUDA, ICPR 4, ArcGIS and/or HEC-RAS.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.

Familiarity with FDOT roadway drainage design experience.
