Bayer United is a growing, energetic firm seeking a registered Engineering Intern (EI) to support the Roadway Group in our Tampa, Florida office. This role has many growth opportunities in the roadway design field, client interaction, and marketing. We have various roadway design projects within FDOT Districts 1, 2, 5, and 7, Florida’s Turnpike, Hillsborough County, and others.

JOB DUTIES

  • Assist with roadway analysis and preparing roadway construction plans
  • Develop project quantities
  • Prepare submittal documents
  • Attend project field reviews
  • Coordinate and understand all other design components, including drainage, structures, signing and pavement marking, signalization, lighting, and utility work
  • Attend technical meetings
  • Prepare cost estimates

Projects range from major reconstruction projects to milling and resurfacing projects, and minor design projects such as sidewalk and trail projects.

You will work with a cohesive team of professionals within and outside the Roadway discipline, including other subconsultants.

SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Strong technical writing, computer, communication, organization, and planning skills are required
  • Experience and familiarity with Open Roads Designer (ORD) is a plus but is not required; training in ORD and 3D modeling will be provided

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

B.S. in Civil Engineering with (0-4) years of experience.
